To get a sense of the history and attractions on offer at The Auckland Project, the team enjoyed visiting Bishop Auckland on a couple of occasions. We soaked in the range of sites and stories, including Auckland Castle, the Spanish Gallery, the Deer Park and Auckland Tower. HdK were inspired by the interconnectedness of The Auckland Project’s attractions, whilst also being struck by each area’s own unique identity.
We embraced the challenge of reflecting this throughout the brand refresh. Working with The Auckland Project team, HdK developed and consolidated their existing branding to make it more accessible and user friendly. This involved creating unique colour palettes for each attraction, and bringing them together under one visual family through clear and clean iconography.
HdK designed and built a new website that took this refreshed visual identity into the digital space. We created an optimised user journey throughout the website, allowing visitors to be inquisitive, engaging with the history of the town not just in the physical space, but digitally too. The new website reflects the ethos of the charity as well as the attractions, with strong use of immersive imagery and interactive elements such as timelines and itineraries.
HDK have been a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The team’s creative and flexible approach has resulted in a sophisticated and user-friendly website which captures the essence of our brand, inspiring curiosity and most importantly a desire to visit our multiple attractions.
The Auckland Project’s new website has not just improved the user experience, but streamlined their team’s workload. With a clean and clear design, The Auckland Project are able to manage their multiple attractions, Visit us, What’s On, About Us and Support sections with ease.
