Flexibility in the workplace
HdK continues to follow the hybrid model of working with an expectation that people are in the office on days when other employees are in the office. People paid to work 3 to 5 days are currently in the office twice a week, people working 1 or 2 days are required to come into the office once a week.
Holiday allowance
Full time staff on payroll standard holiday allowance is 24 days. On top of this, people can take their birthday off as an additional day to make a total of 25 days.
With bank holidays this works out at 33 days or 6 and a half weeks a year.
Good causes days
Following our recent successful certification as a B Corp Company, the company offers three days a year paid to volunteer for good causes in our community that align with HdK’s values. You can find opportunities local to HdK at VC Hackney, Hoxton Trust or Shoreditch Trust. Our values centre around making the arts accessible, education, and environmental causes and you are encouraged to contribute to causes that reflect these values. However, you should not feel restricted if you have a good cause you feel passionate about and can demonstrate to the team.
ACCESS TO THE ARTS
HdK offers opportunities to free and discounted tickets through our contacts on an ad hoc basis when available.
HdK already has a Museums Association membership that can be borrowed to get Free access to UK museums and galleries.
HdK offers a £75 personal subsidy for going to a cultural event. Ideally these should be to experiment with something that you wouldn’t usually choose to go to where the cost might be prohibitive.
Personal development allowance
For 2024/25 our allowance will be £500 per full time employee and pro rata for part time employees. This can be used for training or anything that helps you thrive in your job such as a conference, books, online courses.
Socials
HdK holds a team social at least every quarter. Other ad hoc socials around new team members starting and team celebrations are also opportunities to socialise together. Recent socials include Summer picnic, escape room, indoor crazy golf, lunches, Christmas party.
Pension
All staff who are eligible for auto enrolment will be enrolled on the Smart Pension scheme currently set at contribution of 3%.
