HdK designed the concept and artwork for the world premiere of Chigger Foot Boys, presented by StrongBack Productions with Tara Theatre. Designs included poster, leaflet, book cover and social media artwork. We designed the concept in response to the themes of the play. The poster has a cinematic feel; we tried to reflect a few major aspects of the story and keep the Caribbean mood alive.
Playwright Patricia Cumper wrote Chigger Foot Boys about two brothers, one more educated than the other, who leave Jamaica to join the British forces during WWI, motivated by a sense of patriotism. Eventually, they both feel betrayed by either their youth or Great Britain.
