Hi, my name is Roz Woodroffe and I’m excited to be joining HdK as a Senior Project Manager within the website team!
Originally a history graduate, I’ve been working in digital agencies since graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2012. I started off in copywriting and soon made the switch to project management. I’ve been a PM for nearly 12 years now because I love working with people and being the constant face in a project from initial proposal to launch and everything which comes after. I hope to bring some of that experience to this month’s webinar – How to brief for a website that achieves your organisational goals.
Before joining the team at HdK, I was struck by how many inspiring organisations they worked with. Not to mention how many projects I’d already experienced in my day to day life (I’m looking at you Bat Out of Hell – proud two time attendee over here!). As my previous agencies have focused predominantly on fintech, B2B software, and similarly corporate organisations, I was really keen to move to a sector anchored in creativity. I’m really excited to work on projects where I can authentically put myself in the audience’s shoes!
Looking through the HdK portfolio and researching the company during the hiring process I loved the way the design team took tangible elements of the buildings, or productions and then incorporated those motifs into the website design itself. A great example of this would be on the Bowes Museum project. This fusion between the physical and the digital is really inspiring.
What would be your dream theatre role?: A charismatic secondary part in a musical where I can sing one song in a lower range. Something along the lines of Anita in West Side Story, Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, or Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables.
What’s one cultural event you’ll never forget?: A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Royal Exchange 2002 – I’ve unearthed the Guardian review (only three stars), but it was absolutely magical, riotous and funny to a precocious 11 year old.
Best international museum you’ve visited?: The Vasa Museum in Stockholm
Favourite UK museum you’ve visited?: I never get bored of the V&A
