Commitment to Accessibility
At HdK, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for everyone. We are continuously improving the user experience of our website and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Compliance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
We continually monitor the accessibility of this website. However, we are about to undergo major website development and will publish a complete statement by June 2025.
What we’ve done to improve the accessibility of our website
In order to reach a high level of accessibility, the HdK team of designers, developers and content editors follow the international accessibility guidelines provided by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C WCAG 2).
Keyboard Accessibility: All functionality on our website can be accessed using only a keyboard.
Screen Reader Accessibility: Input fields in forms are properly labeled, and user interface elements, such as tabs, are designed to be accessible for screen reader users.
Flexible Layout: Our website is responsive, ensuring it works seamlessly on computers, phones, and tablets. It also scales effectively when you zoom in, enhancing usability.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the HdK website. Gathering feedback from our users is a top priority for us and will continue to be a crucial element of our website and digital strategy.
