Home Our work Garden Museum

The Garden Museum is Britain’s only museum dedicated to the art, history, and design of gardens. Through exhibitions, events, festivals, and community projects, it tells the stories of people, plants, and gardens to inspire creativity and wellbeing for all.

The new website sits at the heart of the museum’s wider digital transformation, designed to bring those stories to life and reach a broader audience.

The challenge

The previous website was built before Covid and struggled to keep pace with the museum’s growing ambitions. Ticket demand had outgrown what the site could handle, and there was a clear opportunity to develop the museum’s digital offer: online events and films, a stronger retail presence, and better CRM capabilities.

The new site needed to build awareness beyond existing visitors, drive both physical and digital engagement and grow revenue across multiple income streams.

The solution

We worked closely with the Garden Museum team to design a site shaped around how people actually explore the museum. Collaborative workshops helped define the structure and key user journeys, keeping audience needs at the centre of every decision.

The site integrates with DigiTickets and Shopify, pulling in event and ticket data automatically to reduce admin for the team. Sustainability was a priority throughout the build. The new site is significantly lighter than its predecessor, with a carbon reader embedded on every page so the museum can track and demonstrate its environmental impact.

How we did it

Discovery workshops to define site structure and user journeys

Integration with DigiTickets for automated event and ticketing data

Shopify integration for retail

Accessibility and sustainability considered throughout design and build

Carbon reader embedded on every page to measure environmental impact
