Hi, my name is Ben and I’m very excited to be joining HdK as Web Team Support. I’ll be working between Claire and Jannick, supporting them in both project management and web development.
I graduated from the University of East Anglia two years ago and until the pandemic, had been freelancing as an actor and roleplayer for training courses. I worked mainly with the NHS to train medical professionals in patient consultation skills but also began to work with the Police, corporate and non-profit organisations. The best part about this work was that it allowed me to meet and work with so many amazing people and help them practise their skills so that they can better help others in their line of work. I’m looking forward to continuing this goal – but now doing it digitally!
In this particularly difficult time for the arts, I’m fascinated by how organisations are adapting to offer digital content and how we can help them with the new challenges that are presenting themselves. From a project management perspective, I’m really interested in the practicalities of making content accessible, organised, integrated and monetised, while from a developer perspective, I’m keen to learn how to practically implement these integrations – something that is increasingly important to efficient workflow. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to explore these challenges at HdK and help people and organisations adapt to these changing needs.
My claim to fame is that I used to sing for the English National Opera with the now famous genius musician Jacob Collier when we were both around 13 years old. I’m definitely a fan of his music and if you haven’t heard of him – go and look on Youtube right now!
If you’d like to ask me anything or just say hello, please ping me an email.
